P51 Mustang Big Beautiful Doll
This is a magnificent, highly detailed replica of the P51 Mustang Big Beautiful Doll. This model is a faithful replica of this existing warbird. The P51 was, and still remains, a formidable machine, particularly with its Packard built Rolls Royce engine cranking out the power. The aircraft revolutionised flying by extending its operating time with additional fuel reserves making it possible to fly up to six-hour missions.
Flown by Lieutenant Col. John Landers 78th Fighter Group and posted to the 8th Air Force in Europe in December 1944. He flew in several units: 78th, 357th and 361st, flying P38s and P51s all named Big Beautiful Doll.
