Amy Johnson's De Havilland Gypsy Moth
Amy Johnson took delivery of the De Havilland Gypsy Moth just three weeks before her epic 11,000 mile, 20-day journey to Darwin, Australia from Croydon, UK on 5 May 1930. The plane, "Jason", was fitted with extra fuel tanks to enable 13 hours flying.
